This broom is a full length floor-sweeper. It’s made from either douglas fir or walnut, two significant wood species in the pacific northwest. I use these two species for weight; in douglas fir, the broom is feather-light, while in walnut, it’s heavier and more robust. Have faith: there’s a goldilocks broom weight for everyone!
The round handle includes a tapered section, which I find grips well when using the broom with one hand, and sweeping debris into a dust pan.
Hand made and finished in Portland. Each sweeping head contains 17 individually wrapped bundles of tampico, which is a stiff, yet supple natural sweeping fiber.
