This is a utility brush for all surfaces: tables, floors, workbenches, countertops, etc. Each handle is hand-carved from sugar maple, and painted with milk paint, a mixture of buttermilk, limestone, and mineral pigments, which gives it a beautiful texture and color.
It was inspired by the drafting brushes I used during my architectural training. These flat brushes are made to lift fine graphite dust and eraser rubbings off large-format pencil drawings. The medium-soft horsehair collects small particles easily, while providing enough stiffness to hold up for long-term use.
Hand made and finished in Portland. Each sweeping head contains 6 individually wrapped bundles of horse hair.
